The July Breaks Ground on Stylish Apartment Hotel on Dublin’s Capel Street
Dublin, December 9th 2024 - Amsterdam based apartment-hotel group The July is thrilled to continue their roll-out with the commencement of construction on Dublin's Capel Street. Joining Dublin City Council’s regeneration project in the area, The July reinforces their brand’s pledge to provide high-quality, sustainably developed destinations for travellers, residents and neighbours across Europe.
“We’re excited to contribute to Capel Street’s evolution," says Kees Tol, Director of Development at The July. “Our Dublin apartment hotel reflects our commitment to creating sustainable, community-centered spaces that honor local design. The central location offers guests access to Dublin’s vibrant cultural heart, and we look forward to adding to the street’s energy and charm.”
The July worked closely with Dublin City Council to secure planning approval for their first Irish property. The apartment-hotel is set to be Georgian-inspired in design, aligned with the brand's signature approach of complimenting their buildings to the surrounding neighbourhoods.
The hotel will offer a diverse mix of rooms, catering to guests with varying needs, from short-term stays to extended visits. Sustainability is at the core of the project’s design, with the building achieving BREEAM Excellent certification through a variety of green initiatives including solar panels, green roofs, and energy-efficient systems to reduce carbon emissions during operations.
The July has selected local contractor Elliott Group to bring the project to life. “We are honored to partner with The July on this landmark project,” says Darragh Elliott, Managing Director of Elliott Group. “Respecting the community is at the heart of everything we do, and registering with the Considerate Constructors Scheme reflects our commitment to working with care for the local area while playing a key role in the revitalisation of Capel Street.”
